Legal Aid Forum Trust is an NGO registered under the provisions of the Indian Trusts Act 1882, established with the vision to “encourage legal literacy, awareness and education in order to uphold the ethos of the Indian Constitution while ensuring accessible and affordable legal aid and services”. It is committed to assist marginalized communities by using the law effectively. Our aim is to improve the lives of these groups through legal aid, advocacy, and litigation. Established in October 2016 with the objective of integrating legal aid and awareness initiatives – Legal Aid Forum Trust has ventured into various fields.

Legal aid, legal awareness, legal intervention, legal activism, etc. – the underlying aim of all is to contribute to the positive development of society with a strong socio-legal approach. The activities of Legal Aid Forum Trust include active dissemination of legal information through its official website, running internship programs for law students to help them develop a holistic personality with a socio-legal outlook to their professional persona, interviews with eminent personalities working at the grassroots level, providing information about their successful projects, providing a platform to promote and publish research and the art of legal writing, etc. The team at Legal Aid Forum Trust works to promote legal activism because we believe that law and society are two sides of the same coin. Law and society are so inextricably interdependent that both need to be reformed equally to take the world to the desired new order. At Legal Aid Forum Trust, we believe in a better and brighter tomorrow. We do not want to be mere passengers in this movement of change – rather, we want to be the vanguard of change.
