Legal aid aims to provide a system in society that makes the mission of the administration of justice easily accessible and accessible to those who are economically or socially vulnerable. It provides free legal advice, judicial services, and support to poor and needy individuals for other legal problems. Legal awareness is the natural starting point for legal empowerment, often followed by legal assistance in actually accessing rights.
This is particularly so for marginalized sections whose longstanding vulnerability makes access to justice particularly difficult. Legal aid can range from legal advice and counseling to representation in court through litigation. Legal Aid Forum Trust provides legal aid through its network of lawyers and community justice workers. It provides free legal aid to the poor and marginalized such as women, children, persons with disabilities, the poor.
